Required Legal Researchers / Practitioners - UNDP in Kuwait

  • Each (TC) member will be assigned a piece of research work based on his/her specialty and interest. However, the (TC) will work collectively to develop the research methodology and to  ensure the credibility and reliability of the work and that each paper is adhering to the legal research standards
  • Each paper should refer to  Kuwait Constitution and the international commitments of Kuwait government as reference point
  • Each paper has to annex a comprehensive list of the Kuwaiti legislations, including procedural laws, and key judicial practices that relate to  the specific topic
  • Significant gaps in laws that need reform or new enactments have  to be clearly identified  and justified
  • A list of FAQ derived from the majority of cases in the courts and the lived realities of the women in Kuwait, supported by case studies as appropriate
  • Set of recommendations
  • Good experience on legal practice and /or legal research 
  • Track record in protection of women human/ legal rights
  • Very good knowledge on Kuwait legal system
  • Knowledge and experience on the international human rights system and the gender justice frameworks are desirable 
  • Fluency in Arabic and English
