Required Lan Systems Administrator for US Embassy in Kuwait

Salary range: US$ 42,948 - US$ 46,930 p.a.

The U.S. Embassy in Kuwait is seeking an individual for the position of LAN Systems Administrator to work at the Aviation Missile Command Office (AMCOM), APACHE Field Office located at the Kuwait Air Force Headquarters, Ali Al-Salem Air Base.

Important note:

All US Citizens (USEFMs, EFMs, or MOHs as defined below) of US Government Employees assigned to the Mission and under Chief of Mission authority are eligible for consideration. A US Citizen EFM does not have to be residing in country to be considered but the sponsoring officer under COM authority does have to be officially assigned to post.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION
The incumbent manage and controls all management information systems operations, development, analysis, and design, migration installation, and implementation activities. Incumbent serves as the FSN LAN Systems Manager for the ALI Al-Salem Apache Hanger Facility responsible for all unclassified hardware and software including the management and administrative responsibilities for the operations and activities of the LAN and its WAN. The incumbent is responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and controlling of five (5) interconnected SharePoint + LAN servers and about 150 workstations.

Duties include:
- The incumbent serves as the organizations’ Information Assurance Administrator to ensure all servers; computers and associated equipment are patched and updated with Kuwait Communications Command Security regulations.
- Manages, install, configures and ensures CAC/PKI servers and software are working properly and that certificates are obtained, reviewed, and renewed to meet Kuwait Communications Command IA requirements.
- Conducts, tracks, and logs annual Information Assurance user training. Reviews exiting IA infrastructure and recommends, designs and properly report all IA findings to the CIO.
- Directs and completes actions required to prevent and/or correct Information Assurance deficiencies and violations.
- Assures compliance with security policies and evaluates the effectiveness of systems, devices, procedures, and methods used of safeguard KAF networks.
- Continuously coordinates and plans Information assurance functions with organizational managers as well as administrative and technical personnel at all levels.
- Provides assistance, advice and guidance to organizational users, both in the administrative and technical areas, concerning the use of Information Assurance and Computer Security.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
1. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, IT systems or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
2. Three to five years of progressively responsible experience in the System administration, information system management or computer system management, with six months supervisory experience.

Job holder will be required to communicate effectively in both languages with senior members of the Kuwait Air Force and members of the public.
3. Knowledge of established practices of the trade.
4. Must possess of a valid Kuwaiti driver’s license and skilled in the use of MS Office, Excel and Power point.
