To administer and maintain the Short Messaging Service gateway. To provide a stable gateway with operators and regional partners/clients. Gateway configuration to enable short codes and services. Monitoring and supporting the IT team to deploy external services and deploy them in-tune with the gateway.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for administrating the SMS gateway.
• Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the SMS gateway.
• Responsible for regular gateway health checks and configuring different levels of system alerts.
• Responsible for generating TCP dumps and system logs for troubleshooting purposes.
• Responsible for configuring and enabling short codes on the gateway.
• Responsible for configuring and enabling services on the gateway.
• Responsible for creating and deploying services on the gateway.
• Responsible for coordinating with operator to configure direct short codes.
• Responsible for coordinating with clients/partners to configure indirect/direct short codes
• Responsible for cooperating with clients/partners to troubleshoot in case of any malfunction in service or short code.
• Responsible for coordinating with Operation department to provide short codes for services.
• Responsible for license renewal of gateway.
• Responsible for managing the gateway in a fashion deemed fit for the benefit of the company with the approval and consent immediate supervisor’s.
• Responsible for providing immediate support for problems in short code and/or service.
• Responsible for planning gateway outages in a manner to minimize down-time.
• Responsible for informing clients/partners in case of any planned or unplanned outages.
Should be well versed using a computer.
Should be able to troubleshoot and resolve basic computer and network issues.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 1 year experience in maintaining any type of customized systems
Any experience in Linux systems (Optional)
Any experience with a VASP company (Optional)
QUALIFICATION:
Should have a minimum of graduate certification, from a reputed and well known university. Specialization in computers will be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE
- Should have knowledge in maintaining and basic security of a computer system.
- Should have knowledge of GSM operations.
- VAS knowledge will be an added advantage.
