Required Expert In Training Specialists On Dealing With Children With Dyslexia In Arabic - UNDP

Kuwait Dyslexia Association (KDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with dyslexia in Kuwait who would like to benefit from the expertise of an expert in the field of dyslexia intervention under the Early Learning Challanges and Disabilities Umberral Project. KDA is seeking the professional services of a Training Consultant to (1) Write the technical content of a number of training courses, (2) Write the technical content of a number of publications, and (3) Deliver training focused on intervention in the field of dyslexia remediation in Arabic

Education:
    PhD in the field of speciality.

Experience:
    Past relevant expertise in executing similar projects and past publications in the area of the project.
    Past relevant expertise in organizing and delivering training courses.
    Preferable previous experience working in a similar UN project. 

Language Requirements:
    Knowledge of Arabic and English.

The consultant should demonstrate diverse skills in various areas related to dyslexia, including, but not necessarily be limited to, the following.

Technical Knowledge
    Ability to deliver training courses in Arabic focused on dyslexia intervention and support for teachers, parents and intervention specialists.
    Knowledge of accessible technical writing related to dyslexia identification and intervention to enable the production of booklets for parents, teachers and intervention specialists.
    Experience in the field of Arabic linguistics and dyslexia training and phonological awareness and the foundation of Arabic sound and writing system.
    Practiotioner's knowledge of educational system in Kuwait and of the Kuwaiti Arabic national curriclum and of the types of mistakes and errors committed by Kuwaiti students with dyslexia. 
    Knowledge of requirements of information system, e.g. provide most current and comprehensive information, database component, e.g. database design, online portal hosting and storage components and data collection from various sources, technical specifications of the equipment, devices, and software,mobile services, security and confidentiality issues, backup, maintenance,staffing, and future development,
    Appreciation of the role of parents and teachers in the field of early identification and early intervention of dyslexia.
