Required Expert In Industrial Strategy Formulation - PAI - UNDP in Kuwait

  • Conduct SWOT analysis for Kuwait`s current industrial strategy (2000-2015)
  • Assessment of the current landscape and determining the regional and international benchmark including implications for Kuwait`s industrialization  
  • Compare Kuwait`s current industrial strategy (2000-2015) to other industrial strategies of GCC countries. This exercise shall highlight the venues of similarities and differences.
  • Contribute in setting the strategic objectives and policies for Kuwait`s new industrial strategy
  • Train the cadre in the public authority for industry on how to formulate the industrial strategy steps.
Expected Output
  • Monthly progress report approved by the beneficiary.
  • Detailed SWOT analysis report on relevant area of expertise.
  • Legal briefs and studies upon the request of the beneficiary.
  • Final report with recommendations for future actions.
  • A draft of the Second Industrial Strategy for the State of Kuwait.   
  • Ability to advocate and provide policy advice
  • Awareness of the need for development and operational effectiveness
  • In depth knowledge and strong track record of using internationally oriented  programs and instruments
  • Good understanding of the rules governing program management and implementation modalities as set by the Government of Kuwait and PAI. This attribute is a plus.
  • Ability to lead formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development programs and projects,
  • Ability to research and analyze national and international development situations
  • Strong IT skills
Education:

  • Advance degree in Industrial planning or akin area.
Experience:
  • Research track record in industrial strategy and planning interventions. 
  • Demonstrated Professional experience not less than 10 years in the field.
  • Experience in GCC and Kuwait in particular is a plus.
Language: Excellent communication skill in Arabic and English is a must.
