Required Financial Controller - Safir Hotels / Resorts, Kuwait

The Controller has a dual responsibility. Is responsible directly to the General Manager of the hotel in the administrative capacity of a department head, and is responsible directly to the Corporate Director of Finance in the functional capacity as the corporate office Finance & Accounting department's representative in the hotel.

• Act as the hotel’s signing authorities, and as such sign all cheques and other payments from all of the hotel’s bank accounts, all purchase requisitions, purchase orders and accounts payable vouchers
• Will assist in preparation of the annual budget and the quarterly revised forecasts in the formats established by corporate office. The Controller is responsible for the accurate compilation of the figures and for ensuring that the GM is fully cognizant of all factors that go into the formulation of the budget
• Responsible for reporting the actual results as compared to the budget/forecast results. He/she is also responsible for maintaining adequate records to reflect the comparison of the actual expenditures of furniture and equipment and operating equipment to the budgeted amounts
• Hotel pre-opening experience in an executive team level position
• Proven record to coordinate multiple departments to make gains towards targeted results.
• Clear working knowledge of budget planning and execution.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal and guest handling skills.
• Ability to motivate developing leaders to act as entrepreneurs while innovating guest oriented solutions creatively and profitably.
• Self-confident, proactive, and able to prioritize and make effective decisions.
• Ability to build strong relationships, interact and influence others at all levels of the organization.
• Computer literacy a must, with a strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Excellent Arabic and English writing skills

The primary responsibilities of this position are:
• To setup and manage the hotel accounting department, information and internal control systems and hotel finances in accordance with budgetary guidelines, and the pre-opening critical path
• To provide accurate and complete financial and management reports on a timely basis to the hotel managerial personnel, Corporate Office and owners in accordance with the company and ownership reporting requirements and policy
• To protect the owners interest in the hotel assets and operations
