Bachelor’s degree with medical background
Reviews medical records of all discharged inpatients and outpatient surgery cases and demonstrates knowledge and ability to follow medical staff and hospital standards guidelines to ensure medical record completion.
Works closely with medical records staff/team to achieve ongoing compliance by extracting and interpreting statistical data, and creating and running reporting and research inquiries.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge of medical terminology and of research methodology. Knowledge of all facets of hospital medical records systems, processes, procedures, and documentation standards
Knowledge of computerized data collection and statistical data analysis program.
Knowledge of hospital patient intake and discharge procedures. Knowledge in data management , quality control , medical data editing and abstracting skills.
