At the moment we're looking for an experienced, self motivated Health Club and Spa Equipment Maintenance Technician to join our vibrant and passionate team at Crowne Plaza, Kuwait. Crowne Plaza Kuwait, part of IHG, is presently a 300 spacious, modern rooms, suites hotel with a 5000 sq. m Health Club/Recreation area and separate building with 3500 sq. m area for Aquatonic Spa facilities. A residential building with 110 double bedroom flats for staff accommodation also forms part of the present premises.
JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the key job responsibilities include:
- To ensure proper operation of equipment of all Health Club and Spa areas including: Exterior and Entrance areas, Sales Area, Squash Courts, Exercise and Cardio Rooms, Weight Rooms, Locker Rooms, Pool, Jacuzzi, Sauna, Aerobics Room, and any other areas that are located within Health Club and Spa Fitness Centre.
- Attends promptly all repair and maintenance requests of equipment on priority basis
- Maintenance of (or oversees outside service provider maintenance) pool/spa to ensure proper chemical balances and drains and cleans Spas after hours as needed
- Works closely with the Assistant Chief Engineer and Director of Health Club & Spa to discuss club maintenance needs and repairs, conducts a daily walk-through with R&M Supervisor, and maintains a Maintenance Log and ensures follow through and communication on these items
- Conducts a daily safety walk-through of the Facility to identify and address any immediate safety concerns.
- Conducts a thorough inspection in the facility on a weekly basis to ensure facility and equipment adheres to Health Club & Spa standards
- Maintains the history file on all equipment.
Preventative Maintenance
- Performs preventative maintenance as directed by the individual manufacturer specifications. - Maintains a log of Preventative Maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, skills & abilities:
- Must possess strong interpersonal, communication, and organization skills
- Must be highly organized and able to handle a multi-task environment
- Must have a high level of professionalism, honesty, integrity and an excellent work ethic
- Diligence and a strong understanding of liability issues and personal and/or public injury related to satisfactory completion of the above listed duties a must
- Must have general understanding of computer skills including email
- Technical skills include general experience in the repair and maintenance of equipment
- Non-technical skills required to handle the job responsibilities include attention to detail, leadership skills, communication skills, problem solving/analytical abilities, time management skills, etc.
Minimum certifications/educational level:
- Must complete the Technician Training Program on diploma level from an approved institution
Minimum experience:
- 3 years experience in operations/maintenance
- Previous experience in health club and spa maintenance strongly preferred
