Responsible for planning and procuring items needed by the Company at most competitive prices and as per approved specifications
1. Detects and calculate needs of the company by using U.I.Ps and procure goods as per specifications and at most competitive prices. Obtains usage forecast and promotion plans from the Marketing and operations managers of various brands.
- Obtains stock status report from the warehouse.
- Obtains stock consumption report from finance dept.
- Prepares U.I.P based on the stock status, consumption report and sales forecasts.
- Negotiates prices and payment terms with the suppliers
- Negotiates freight rates with shipping companies.
- Ensures all products supplied by the suppliers are quality products as per franchisors specification.
- Develops new suppliers for various products and also develops supplier’s database.
- Monitors market prices for various raw materials and in various currencies and ensure best prices are negotiated.
- Monitors budget prices and ensures the stock prices are within or lower than the budget.
- Supports restaurant operation in launch of new products & opening of new restaurants on time.
2. Plans and maintains optimum stock levels and ensures no item is overstocked or under stocked.
- Monitors stock status reports to check the movement of goods.
- Monitors the arrival date of goods to ensure all the goods are arriving on time and to take corrective action in case of variations in the orders.
- Check with Marketing Dept. if the consumption of goods are as per forecasts or there is any increase in the requirement of any item.
- Check the expiry dates of the goods
- Follow up with the clearing agent for Baldiya approvals of the food products.
- Handles product complaints with suppliers, shipping companies and insurance companies.
- Advises warehouse expected arrival dates of the orders to arrange space.
3. Calculates and advises Finance Department about the Foreign Exchange requirements to enable them to arrange forward exchange contracts to cover exchange risks.
4. To follow up on near expired items and coordinate with the respective departments to ensure sale and / or consumption of those items before expiry.
