Required Expert In Economics Statistics - Central Statistical Bureau - UNDP in Kuwait

Objectives:
    Enhance capacity building efforts and development of statistical work in the CSB
    Improve the economic statistical tasks of the CSB with high efficiency and in a timely manner
    Strengthen the analysis of input/output
    Revise and update the Computable General Equilibrium Model (CGEM)
    Build up-to-date Social Accounting Matrix for Kuwait

The Consultant shall effectively participate in capacity building efforts and development of statistical work in the CSB by recommending plans and drafting action programs that include specific projects and participate in their implementation. The projects are:

    Assist in building a Computable General Equilibrium Model (CGEM)
    Supervision of an analytical study on SAM and CGEM
    Supervise the Development of socio-economic indicators of the Development Plan
    Train and knowledge transfer
    Revise economic statistic outputs for quality assurance
    Participate in post-2011 Census Studies

Expected Outputs:
    Evaluation report on the status quo of the CSB in respect to the required consultancy
    A report with executive recommendations with executable action program to enhance the work of the beneficiary in accordance with the output of the evaluation repor
    Report on the capacities of the CSB’s staff.
    Progress report approved by the UNDP Office and the beneficiary
    Final report should include recommendations for future action

Required Skills and Experience
    Ph.D. in Economics Statistics or akin disciplines and significant experience in field not less than 15 years.
