Required OR Head Nurse - Dar Al-Shifa Hospital in Kuwait

The post holder will be a qualified nurse responsible for the routine daily planning and organization of the theater / anesthetic area / recovery, for clinical procedures and practice and participate in the department’s administration as required, for the assessment of care needs, the development of programmes of care and their implementation and evaluation, the post holder will carry out all relevant forms of care without direct supervision, will contribute to the overall good of the organization by being a positive role model and to treat all staff, visitors and service users with courtesy, will provide training for scrub nurses and anesthesia nurses that will enable them recover patients following an anesthetic and scrub at Caesarean sections.

Skills in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
Ability to supervise and train assigned staff including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
Staff development and performance management skills.
Knowledge of staff hiring procedures.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Knowledge of Intensive care theory, procedure and standards.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to evaluate design, implement teaching methodologies.
Ability to plan work schedules and assign duties for staff.
Ability to provide or arrange for training. Knowledge of MOH and local regulations, guidelines and standards in area of expertise.
Ability to supervise, advice and train health care / clinical professionals.
Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, windows based operating environment.
