Minimum Essential Qualifications and Professional Experience Required :
Completion of Secondary Education in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Journalism or other related fields.
Minimum of 6 years pf previous relevant professional job experience.
Fluency in written and spoken English & Arabic.

Responsibilities
Establishes and manages external relations activities of the Liaison Office, Kuwait
Provides interviews to the local media and background briefings to the international
media.
Keeps track of evolving issues concerning displaced persons and refugees to be able
to suggest stories and topics for the media to cover.
Provides daily briefings on local developments to the Head of Office and ensures
that briefing materials from other offices are available.
Accompanies visits of foreign delegations and the media to refugee sites in the
region, giving appropriate briefings, commentaries and prepares briefing material
for visitors.
Establishes contacts with local organizations and media institutions to promote
general interest and understanding of refugee issues.
Ensures that the office is kept informed of local developments which may have a
political or operational impact on the office's activities.
Compiles information and SitReps received from the Field Offices and consolidates
into a weekly/monthly SitRep emanating from the Sub-Office.
Advises the Head of Office of local aspects of external relations policies.
Developing strategic partnership with UNHCR humanitarian partners and
mobilizing resources to UNHCR programmes in the region and beyond.
Drafts letters, memos, note verbales, press releases, speeches etc..
Arranges for symposiums/workshops and refugee-related events and functions such
as WRD.
Translates press releases and other UNHCR documents as appropriate.
Maintains coordination with and provides necessary support to External Relations
Hub.
Performs other duties as required.
