Required Expert In Development Management - UNDP, Kuwait

Education:
    Advanced degree in administration, management, finance or any other related fields.

Experience:
    Significant experience in planning and development field (not less than 10 years), with recognized track record in finance and administration at leadership level. Experience in planning indicators preferred.

Functional Competencies:
    Lead teams effectively and show conflict resolution skills.
    Consistently approach work with energy and a positive, constructive attitude.
    Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills in Arabic and English.
    Knowledge of up-to-date stat. analysis software.
    Build strong relationships with GSSCPD and external parties.

Core Competencies:
    Demonstrates integrity by modelling the UN’s values and ethical standards;
    Promotes the vision, mission, and strategic goals of UNDP;
    Displays cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability
    Treats all people fairly without favouritism;
    Fulfils all obligations to gender sensitivity and zero tolerance for sexual harassment.

The Consultant shall effectively participate in capacity building efforts in development management in the areas of development results analysis and statistics, of the various related teams. Among said tasks:
    Provide technical assistance in all aspects of activities related to policy advice at high and medium level management.
    Provide Studies, report and position papers in various developmental issues.
    Provide advice on workflow quality control and financial affairs.
    Capacity building of national cards in the area of developmental statistical work.
    Provide interventions to activate the integration between the outputs of the development activities and related financial requirements, to ensure coherence of overall performance in SCPD.

Expected Outputs:
    Evaluation report on the status quo of the GSSCPD in respect to the required consultancy.
    A report with executive recommendations with executable action program to enhance the work of the beneficiary in accordance with the output of the evaluation report.
    Report on the capacities of the GSSCPD staff.
    Monthly Progress report.
    Final report should include recommendations for future action.
