You will be responsible for setting the HR strategy for the assigned business area, in line with the company’s business needs and supporting the business decision
process through pro-actively advising and engaging with the assigned
leadership team on all HR related matters. Duties include all facets of
HR: Recruitment, Comp & Ben, Training & Development and Employee
Relations. You will need to ensure operational excellence when
implementing and executing HR policies and processes and take
appropriate action in case of non-compliance. Other requirements include
driving and preparing HR reports, key metrics and ratios, sharing best
practices across the assigned business area and developing continuous improvement initiatives.
As our client has a technical workforce, it will be essential for candidates to have HR experience from an industry that employs a technical workforce and either manufactures or sells technical products (mechanical / electrical).
Responsibilities:
• Act as the HR lead for defining & successfully implementing change management processes within the UAE
• Optimise current business and HR processes and tools
• Translate business requirements into HR strategy and planning for assigned Business Area in close liaison with other (Regional) HR Business Areas
• Lead communication effort and ensure key HR messages are promoted and cascaded through the organisation
• Provide advice and support on C&B questions & policy applications, such as incentives, annual merit review, internal salary equity analysis, etc.
• Monitor all aspects of the HR Balance Scorecard, HR reports & metrics, for assigned management team
• Ensure application of local labor terms & conditions is equitable and legally compliant (e.g. labor laws, etc.)
• Ensure compliance with annual performance management within assigned management team. Coach assigned management team on the correct & consistent application of the performance management related policies, processes & tools.
• Provide advice & support to assigned management team related to development plans & career paths. Coordinate any internal and/or external training needs resulting in an overall training plan, where required. Liaise with L&D Department as and when appropriate.
• Monitor Global HR initiatives across assigned Business Area: e.g. Global Performance Appraisal System (GPAS), Learning Management System (LMS), Employee Engagement Survey and action planning, etc
• Workforce planning - ensure vacancies are dealt with in timely manner through re-assigning existing employees and/or recruitment of key positions.
• Data integrity, ensures 100% data integrity for assigned Business Areas
• Health & Safety: planning, reporting and support of company initiatives
Skills Required:
Candidate requirements (ie: must have):
• Previous HR exposure in a technical industry (mechanical/electrical engineering) in manufacturing / sales / technical company
• Strong Generalist HR knowledge
• Graduate Degree in business with HR major
• Master degree desired - MBA or equivalent through experience
• More than 5 years progressive experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures, preferably with multi-country or pan- European scope
• Experience in working successfully in a multinational, matrix driven organisation
• Cross cultural awareness
• Good counselling skills
