Required Senior Systems Engineer Networks - M.H. Alshaya

The Senior Systems Engineer Networking’s role is to plan, direct, and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer and network systems to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT assets. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links.

Skills / Experience:
    University degree in the field of computer science/engineering or information systems (Master’s degree preferred).
    Certifications in Networking in the areas of Data and Voice.
    At least 5-10 years work experience managing and configuring enterprise wide LANs, WANs & VPNs.
    Experience in managing or maintaining an international or large regional WAN with either MPLS or IPSEC VPNs.
    Proven experience in network design and development with working technical knowledge of current networking systems software, protocols, and standards.
    Proven project planning and management experience.
    Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
    Superior written and oral communication skills.
    Excellent technical support documentation skills.
    Strong interpersonal and consultative skills.
    Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
    Able to prioritize and execute tasks effectively and efficiently with a high level of quality in a high-pressure environment.
    Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    Ability to deliver consistently on time-based commitments in high-pressure environments

Responsibilities:
    Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans to make certain network capacity and plans meet existing and future requirements.
    Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and providing network performance statistics and reports.
    Document the company’s existing network architecture and portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.
    Review new and existing projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans.
    Manage and ensure optimal operation of all network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, security (perimeter, edge and core) solutions, firewalls, proxies, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
    Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
    Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing networking systems and software as necessary.
    Provide guidance to junior members of the team.
    This role does not have any direct reports, however it is expected that the individual will lead project/program teams.
