Water Resources Division Joint Announcement for Post-Doctorate Positions in:
Thermal Desalination Technologies Research Program & Innovative Desalination Technologies Research Program
Background: KISR is seeking exceptional candidates to fill few post doctorate positions in the areas of water desalination and water treatment research. The successful candidates will become members of the Water Desalination Team at KISR. The aim of the Water Desalination Research Programs is to make substantial breakthroughs in desalinization system efficiencies in terms of footprint, energy, raw materials and the environment.
Major Duties: Successful candidates will play a key role in the research & development of novel water desalination and treatment systems including thermal and membrane technologies and using conventional and renewable energies. The successful candidates will interact proactively and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary research team to drive projects forward. Working in a stimulating and challenging environment, candidates will carry out applied research and collaborate regionally and internationally with researchers for implementation of innovative research strategy and novel technologies.
Qualifications: KISR is looking for recent PhD graduates (or preferably with 2-3 years post PhD experience) from chemical or mechanical engineering or related fields. Key to success is specialization in thermodynamics, heat transfer, transport phenomena, chemical processes together with knowledge/experience in distillation and/or membrane separation processes. Demonstrated ability to design and execute experimental plans, conduct high quality scientific research and prepare and produce high quality reports is essential. Applicant's strong communication skills, meticulous approach to problem solving and great collaborative approach together with KISR commitment for employees’ personal development will ensure to meet ambitious goals.
