The External Communications Executive will be part of the expanding Corporate Communications team at Alshaya.
They will be accountable for the development and delivery of media and
public relations activities, using both traditional and digital
communications channels to target key stakeholders locally in Kuwait,
and more widely across Alshaya’s operating markets.
Skills / Experience:
Degree level minimum – in communications or related subject matter preferable
Successful application of core PR/external communications disciplines (e.g. release drafting, pitching stories, print and production, agency briefing, event management, press office, etc.)
Knowledge of MENA media landscape and good media contacts an advantage.
5+ years communications experience (international experience an advantage)
Experience of implementing PR campaigns - preferably within a retail or fmcg environment
Excellent factual and creative writing and editing skills in English. Arabic skills an advantage
Strong organisational, planning and project management skills
Responsibilities:
Provide media relations support to the business (Press Releases, blogger, events etc.)
Support Corporate Communications Manager (news planning, project and event support etc.)
Develop and maintain core functional processes (media contacts, etc)
Support the development of best practice, policies and effective evaluation of all external communications activity
Create and maintain internal and external relationships
