Experience in Research and development of Dairy products mainly Milk, Juice and Ice Cream.
Bachelor Degree in Dairy or Food Technology or similar industry related degree or equivalent is required.
• 15 years experience within a food manufacturing organization, preferably, of which 5 years in an Operations - Production or Process Management role in food processing or packaging, &/or 2 years experience with in a Product Development Team
• Strong problem solving and project management skills
• Excellent knowledge of Business English
• A strong working knowledge of food manufacturing processes, quality assurance principles, ingredient supply market and market research practices
• Understanding of food science applications, as well as packaging design
• Understanding of sensory principles, labeling and nutritional programs
• Developing new and existing product ranges to keep up with brand and consumer expectations
• Manage and support a team, taking the lead in developing and driving innovative product concepts across a number of food categories
• Work from the concept brief stage to product approval, creating commercially viable products that encompass new and seasonal food trends.
• Source new ingredients and identify opportunities that will enhance products whilst being in line with brand values.
• Develop, enhance and implement procedures to support R&D technical functions
• Provide leadership in the application of the scientific method and experimental design
• Ensure that food safety and quality are designed into products
• Document and communicate project summaries and key findings to supervisor on continuous basis
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety procedures
