Required Manager Insurance - New Mowasat Hospital

The Manager-Insurance leads the insurance function with the objective of streamlining the process of patient insurance claims and recovery through effective liaising with insurance companies while maximizing patient satisfaction. Responsible for overseeing the insurance operations and designing, implementing and training NMH staff on insurance protocols.

Education :      Bachelor’s degree in finance or a related discipline. Masters preferred
Experience :     10 years’ experience in the field of insurance with at least 3 years as a team leader in Healthcare

   
Strong knowledge of legal and insurance legislations
Managerial Skills:     Leadership, Negotiation, Strategic Thinking, Problem Solving, Organizing and 
Soft Skills :     Good communication and Inter-personal skills.
Computer Skills :     MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet
Language Skills:     Good in written and spoken English and Arabic

      
WORKING CONDITIONS
    Works in temperature controlled, clean, well light and pleasant surroundings.
    May involve long periods of sitting; telephone and in front of a computer screen.      
    Occasionally stands and walks short distances; bends, stoops and reaches to perform routine job tasks.   
    Requires occasional travel to offices of insurance companies and corporate clients.
    May be subjected to work related pressure due to departmental exigencies.

RESPONSIBILITIES
    Oversees administration of medical services to Insurance and Corporate customers of the Hospital.
    Manages and negotiates contracts with insurance companies to obtain recognition as a service provider.
    Liaises with insurance companies regarding eligibility, payments, reconciliation and other requirements.
    Reviews insurance claims to ensure accuracy as per agreement, prior to dispatch to respective insurance companies.
    Proactively reports critical issues to Management and submits monthly aging and other reports to Hospital Director and Accounts.
    Designs, updates and implements policies, procedures and protocols to ensure efficiency and accuracy in insurance operations.
    Monitors insurance discounts and rejections and prepares & submits periodic reports to the Finance Manager for review.
    Ensures that the insurance schemes are up to date on the system
    Ensures the delivery of excellent patient experience while approval is sought for insurance claims.
    Develops the unit budget and ensures departmental operations are effectively conducted within the budget.
    Trains physicians, Reception, Department and other staff in insurance protocols.
    Conducts weekly departmental meetings with staff for updates and to educate them on new work methods.
    Initiates steps to improve the departmental functioning.
    Enhances professional growth, training and development through participation in training programs, current literature and in service meetings.
    Attends meetings as required.
    Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager- Finance.
