Protection Engineer - ABB Group

- Knowledge of SCADA and control systems and components used.

transformers, breakers and switchgear required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have organizational and record keeping skills
- Self‐starter with a pro‐active, can‐do approach
- Results orientated and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Support other team members and share the lessons learned.
- Experience in the latest ABB product portfolio.

As a protection engineer, your main responsibilities include,
- Proficient in trouble shooting of system protection problems and schemes
- Knowledge of structured programming, communication techniques and protocols.
- Knowledge of data communications protocols, networking equipment and computer operating
Systems
- Supervise the installation and commissioning of SCADA/automation systems ensuring full
compliance with standards and best practice.
- Train site operators in the use of works and ensure site specific manuals and documentation is
available before handover..
- Consult with clients commissioning agents to determine the customer's needs and priorities.
- Provide written procedures for switching, energization, isolation methods for testing and
commissioning work.
- Coordinate and oversee substation technicians, electricians and serve as project manager
- Serve as primary customer contact for specific projects.
- Professional presentation required in dealing with employees, clients and suppliers.
- Prevent unnecessary outages while working in Brownfield Substations or on any type of energized
equipment.
- Perform any other related tasks.
