Educational Qualifications:
Primary: Diploma in Automobile/Electrical/Mechanical (12th Standards + 2 or 3 years Diploma) or equivalent with 3 years of experience.
Alternate: Vocational Training and 5 years of additional experience.
• Linguistic Abilities: English and Arabic is a must.
• Certification and Licensure: Valid Driving License
Duties;
• Monitor fuel expenses and vehicle consumption figures, reacting quickly to over average usage.
• Ensure all vehicle documentation is correct and up to date, especially insurance and technical requirements.
• Ensure legal and safety requirements are met in relation to the fleet.
• Monitor the quality, cost and efficiency of the movement of units.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse Manager/Supervisor on status of the new shipments.
• Report immediately all infringements of the law by drivers or technical condition of the vehicle to senior management.
• Schedule vehicle maintenance conscious of down time and cost providing clear repair instructions and realistic deadlines.
• Report all irregularities in the use of the vehicle, especially unauthorized.
• Coordinate with the Logistics Supervisor on status of invoiced vehicles for receipt or dispatch.
• Ensure suffice drivers are available to meet the business needs at any time paying attention to their welfare on length of continuous driving hours.
• Record and personally inspect any tire reported damaged during normal use.
• Ensure daily inspections are performed and recorded by drivers with particular regard to lights, water, oil, tire pressure and condition, wheel nut security and overall unit condition.
• Perform weekly inspection of kilometers, cab cleanliness and a walk around of the unit with the driver present.
• Spot check drivers licenses as and when required.
