Academic Job Openings at Gulf University for Science and Technology

- A Ph.D. in the field from an accredited university where English is the language of instruction (except for the position in Arabic).
- An excellent record of publications in international refereed journals.
- Although preference will be given to candidates who qualify for appointment at the rank of assistant professor, those who qualify for appointment at higher ranks are also encouraged to apply.
- For the Foundation Program positions, a master’s degree is required.

Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), established in 2002, and which now has a student population of over 3400, was the first private university in Kuwait.
Since 2002, GUST has continually improved and expanded its educational and organizational capacities while steadily increasing its enrollments. It has continued to implement best practice through its strategic partnership with strong American institutions such as the University of Missouri SL (UMSL), Florida International University (FIU) and the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (UMass).
The University is very cosmopolitan, with faculty and staff from over 31 countries from around the globe. It has a state-of-the-art physical infrastructure and is housed within an innovative architectural setting. New buildings will soon be added to house the new College of Engineering and Architecture.

The University is now seeking positions for the 2014/2015 academic year:
College of Arts & Sciences
a. F-ARA-14 Arabic: Faculty with specialization in Arabic linguistics. Candidates are expected to work with colleagues in an English language environment.
b. F-ENGL-14 English: Faculty with specialization in rhetoric and composition.
c. F-MCM-14 Mass Communications: Faculty with specialization and/or teaching experience in public relations/advertising and strategic communication.
d. F-SOC-14 Sociology: Faculty to teach Global Sociology, Human Rights, and Health and Society.
e. F- POS-14 Political Science: Faculty with specialization in globalization, development, and the political economy of the Middle East.

College of Business Administration
a. F-ACCT-14 Accounting: Faculty with specialization in auditing and international accounting fields.
b. F-FIN-14 Finance: Faculty with specialization in corporate finance, investments, portfolio and risk management, financial markets, entrepreneurial finance, Islamic finance, real estate and derivatives.
c. F-ECON-14 Economics: Faculty with specialization in macro/microeconomics business statistics, financial markets and institutions, international finance.
d. F-MGMT-14 Management: Faculty with specialization in human resource management, organizational development, organizational behavior, strategic management, business logistics, lean production, I/O psychology, business forecasting, and quality assurance.
e. F-MRKT-14 Marketing: Faculty with specialization in sales management, retail management, quantitative marketing, Internet marketing.

• Foundation Program Unit
o F-MFU-14 Math: Instructors with excellent teaching knowledge of mathematical strategies and methods.
o F-EFU- 14 English: Instructors with excellent teaching knowledge of grammar, writing, reading, listening, speaking, pronunciation and conversational skills.
