The main responsibilities of the Buying Associate are as follows:
To support the Buying Team in all aspects of product specification, range building and buying;
To work closely with Buyer, Assistant Buyer to deliver a comprehensive and profitable product range to our showrooms and to ensure that the Critical Path is delivered to;
To generate regular stock reports to allow for effective inventory tracking and sales forecasting in order to maximize all sales opportunities;
To be a key support in the buying team, helping to facilitate all cross functional working between vendors ,HO, Showrooms, Warehouse, Group Control and all other service departments in order to deliver the business objectives.
Key Tasks:
Creates new product arrival catalogues for the showroom and requests initial replenishment from the Warehouse;
Maintains product files and supplier files;
Liaises with international supply base to ensure that the critical path is met;
Checks quantities received from warehouse;
Keeps record of received goods, inventory and delivered goods;
Prepares and sorts source documents, and identifies and interprets data to be entered;
Daily and Monthly sales reporting;
Coordinates information passing between Suppliers, Head Office, Warehouse, Back Store, Showrooms, Finance and Group Control;
Contacts concerned departments to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data;
Compiles reports, sorts, and verifies accuracy of data to be entered;
Maintains product files and supplier files.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
Analytical and computer literate;
Graduate or equivalent in a business related discipline;
Excellent computer skills in Excel, Access and Microsoft Office. SAP would be an advantage;
Product knowledge or retail experience preferred;
Passion for product;
Excellent attention to detail;
Team player;
Likes people;
Reliable and hard working;
Good at meeting deadlines;
Quality focused and result driven.
